Party planning and DIY party decorations are some of my favorite parts of being a mom. Currently, I am planning a space party for my soon-to-be 7-year-old. This includes a DIY paper mache planet and cardboard robot. I can hardly wait to share that with you guys. In the meantime, I am sharing three fun DIY party decorations you should try. There is even a video tutorial below.

DIY Party Decorations: Balloon Garland
To construct a balloon garland you will need balloons, fishing line, a balloon pump, and scissors. I used this pump from Bunch O Balloons to blow up hundreds of balloons in little time.
Constructing a balloon garland is fairly simple. You will first need to inflate lots of balloons. The balloons can be the colors and sizes of your liking. Next, you will make clusters of balloons by tying two balloons together. Then you can start constructing your garland using a fishing line to keep the balloons in place. Be sure to see the video below to see how it’s done.
Fringe Wall Backdrop
To make the fringe backdrop you will need rectangular table cloths, scissors, and masking tape. Cut the table cloths into strips then cut slits about 2/3rds the way up each strip. Finally, you will use masking tape to attach the table cloth to your wall. Start from the bottom up and place the tablecloths in your desired color pattern. Remember to check out the video below to see how this is done.
DIY Tulle Table Skirt
To make a simple table skirt made of tulle, you will need just a few supplies. You will need tulle in the color of your choice, scissors, double-sided mounting tape, and elastic. Start by measuring the diameter of your table to determine how much elastic you will need to wrap all the way around. Next, measure how much distance you will need to cover with tulle.
Cut strips of tulle to double the height of your table. Once you have cut all the strips of tulle, you can begin looping the tulle around the elastic band. The process is the same as making a tutu skirt. When you’ve looped enough tulle, secure the skirt to your table by tying the elastic band. You can also use the double-sided tape to keep the skirt in place. As a final touch, add ribbon around the top trim of the skirt.

Super cute. The video is helpful as well.
Super cute. My 5 y/o daughter just requested a unicorn theme for her upcoming birthday party. Thanks for the great ideas!
Fantastic idea. It turned out gorgeous. We have 10 grandchildren so this will definitely be very helpful for birthday parties!
Wow these decorations look SO professional. I love the tulle table skirt, that is such a cute idea.
This might seem pretty time-consuming, but boy the result sure was worth it. The balloon garland is truly spectacular. I might not be a little kid anymore – but I still love me some balloons!
I love this whole theme! The colors are gorgeous and everything is so picture-perfect! Party goals for sure.
I love that fringe backdrop! It’s really cute!
I never throw parties, but I still LOVE making party decorations! They’re just too much fun, and it’s super easy to alter them to suit any theme you’d like. Any party I have in the future HAS to have a balloon garland and a fun backdrop for photos, for sure. I also love making pinatas too, as all you need is some cardboard and streamers!
Love the video tutorial so much! I’ll share this post with a friend who really really loved DIY projects
This makes me want to throw myself a (non) birthday unicorn themed party! I love DIY decorations and the pastels in these have me hooked. Thanks for sharing!
