I am sharing how I was able to make this easy DIY Princess Poppy Troll Costume.

My daughter loves Princess Poppy and the Trolls movie, so I thought it would be fun and memorable for her if I dressed as Princess Poppy for our fall festival this year.

The costume came together better than I expected and is quite spot on. Keep reading to see how I was able to pull it all together.

DIY Troll Costume: THE HAIR

Creating this DIY troll costume involves crafting a headpiece with vibrant tulle and fabric flowers.

I made the Princess Poppy troll wig by following this tutorial. This was by far the best troll wig tutorial I saw could find because of how BIG and BOLD it is.

In the video demonstration below, Angel of Fleece Fun demonstrates how to construct the wig.

Princess Poppy Costume: THE DRESS

I made Princess Poppy’s Dress by outlining the pattern of a similarly shaped dress onto felt fabric and then cutting out the patterns.

Next, I sewed them together right side to right side. I then used white felt to cut out and hot glue the embellishments at the bottom of the dress.

I kind of winged it with my dress, but you can easily make a Princess Poppy dress with this tutorial.

Lastly, I completed the costume with a pair of pink and white striped socks I picked up at Michaels.

Thigh-high pink socks would work perfectly with this costume.

I applied lots of pink eyeshadow on the apples of my cheeks and the tip of my nose to complete the Princess Poppy look.

I enjoyed crafting this costume and am very pleased with how it turned out. My daughter thought it was awesome, and so did the children at our harvest festival.
