How to Use Pesto

Let’s talk about Pesto. I love a good fresh-made pesto but with homeschooling and running our family business, I don’t always have the time to make it fresh.

Recently, I tried Barilla’s Creamy Genovese Pesto and I have been loving it since. It’s creamy, tasty, and convenient. More than anything, I love the variety of uses this pesto packs.

This pesto has an appetizing, savory taste that complements and enriches so many dishes. I want to share 5 delicious ways I love to use pesto in my kitchen.

Pesto Dip

Maybe the most simple and straightforward way to use Barillas’s Creamy Pesto is as a dip for your favorite vegetables. Dip broccoli, carrots, and cucumbers in this creamy pesto for a tasty snack.

Ways to Use Pesto Barilla

Pesto as a Sandwich Spread

Use pesto as a spread on your favorite sandwich. This is easily one of my favorite uses of pesto. Add another layer of flavor to your favorite sandwich by adding a spear of delicious pesto and you’ll be glad you did.

I served up pesto club sandwiches this past weekend for Labor Day and they were a huge crowd pleaser!

Use Pesto in Pasta Sauce

Add pesto to your favorite pasta dish. The creamy, smooth texture and savory taste of Barilla’s Pesto make it the perfect addition to a warm pasta in my opinion.

Pesto Marinade

There’s nothing quite like tender, juicy grilled chicken. Add additional layers of flavor to your grilled chicken recipe by marinating your chicken in pesto. You will get flavor-packed results every time.

Using pesto as a marinade for the chicken is as simple as 1 2 3. Simply place your pesto-lathered chicken into a gallon-sized Ziploc bag and let marinate for 2 – 12 hours.

Green Pizza Anyone?

White sauce pizza is cool and everyone loves traditional red sauce on their pizza, but, have you tried green sauce?

Pesto pizza is delicious. Use pesto as the sauce for your pizza or add a little pesto to your favorite pizza sauce, either way, you won’t be disappointed.

I’d love to hear from you. What are some of your favorite uses for pesto?
