Spinach and Strawberry Salad with Feta and Pistachios

Sharing is caring!

This spinach and strawberry salad with feta and pistachios has all the texture and flavor you need for a fantastic salad.

This salad’s vibrant colors and complementary flavors make it the perfect salad for summer. Best of all, you can toss this salad together in less than thirty minutes.

The Ingredients You Will Need

The best salads are always the ones with plenty of flavor and texture. This spinach and strawberry salad is no exception. With a combination of salty feta cheese, crunchy pistachios, and sweet strawberries, this dish has it all.

Strawberry and Spinach Salad Ingredients

Spinach: Dark green leafy vegetables?  🙋🏾‍♀️ Yes, please! Spinach adds a pleasant layer of flavor, vibrant color, and a boost of nutrients to this salad.

Romaine Lettuce: I add romaine lettuce to this salad. Romaine lettuce has a crisp and sturdy texture that helps make this salad nice and hearty.

I love the brightness romaine adds to any salad; it pairs very well with spinach as the base of this salad.

Feta: The feta in this salad adds a rich and delicious tangy and creamy taste. Because of the salty flavor of the feta, this salad pairs very well with my salt-free citrus vinaigrette.

Pistachios: Pistachios are the perfect nut to add to this salad. They are not too big or too small, but just the right size to add the crunch we love to a good summer salad.

Avocado: The creamy texture and nutty flavor of avocado fit perfectly with this salad. Be sure to use an avocado that is ripe yet firm. If the avocado is too soft, it will not hold its shape when tossed in the salad.

I like to cut my avocado into small squares for this salad; however, you can cut the avocado to your preferred size and shape.

How to Make Spinach and Strawberry Salad with Feta and Pistachios

Prep The Ingredients: Prep all ingredients. Wash, dry, and slice the strawberries. Crumble the feta. Clean, dry, and chop spinach and romaine. Cut avocado.

Assemble the Salad:

  1. Add spinach, romaine lettuce, strawberries, avocado, and pistachios to a large bowl.
  2. Pour citrus vinaigrette over the ingredients and very gently toss to combine.
  3. Serve the salad in your best salad bowl soon after tossing it in vinaigrette for the best texture and taste.

Use this recipe to make this salad and serve it as a delicious side dish or a hearty main course.

How to Prepare Salad Ahead and Store

You can prepare ingredients ahead of time and store them separately. Store the clean, dry, sliced strawberries in one container, feta in another, and spinach and romaine in another.

Because avocado oxidizes, I recommend not cutting it until ready to serve the salad.
