While puzzles don’t typically come with shiny lights, an array of sounds, or the promise to get your child into a prestigious university they are still one of the most innovative learning tools around. Puzzles help build and develop an array of skills in babies and toddlers. These skills include problem-solving and logical thinking skills.

Puzzles come in many different shapes and sizes, encouraging the development of fine motor skills in young children.

Toddlers love to explore the world with their hands and tiny fingers. A thoroughly made puzzle will encourage your toddler to strengthen their fine motor skills when they grab and pull the different shapes and pieces.

For toddlers who have already developed their fine motor skills, more complex puzzles can encourage them to strengthen their memory, color, and shape recognition skills.

Below is a list of some of my favorite puzzles for toddler development.

We love puzzles in our family! Our daughter actually owns a number of the ones you have listed and they are all great. The counting puzzle (and its corresponding alphabet puzzle) were special favorites and really helped her development.

This is a great list of toddler puzzles. I loved the world peg one but it’s no longer available so your link no longer works for that one. The counting ones are awesome too. We already bought our 3 year old grandson his gifts but maybe this will be for his birthday.

I had no idea there were so many puzzles to choose from. I am going to look for a few of them for my kids.

I am not typically a puzzle person with my kids. Not that I don’t enjoy a puzzle every now and then for myself, I just have found it difficult to sit down and whip out a big puzzle with the kids knowing that most of the pieces will probably get lost lol. But i know it is good for their development. I will definitely look into getting some of these puzzles for my toddler. I especially like the cube one and the spelling one!
